James Otis Lecture Series

This program is from ABOTA’s belief that teachers are the primary guardians of democracy.  You can find this on the ABOTA Foundation website, but it certainly bears reciting here:  “teachers, through their knowledge and skill…teach the next generation about the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.”  The ABOTA Foundation “has created resources and opportunities for teachers and students to grow in their knowledge of the Constitution, the judicial system and civil engagement.”  The James Otis Lecture Series was created to inspire students to provide them with appropriate knowledge and respect for the U. S. Constitution.  The Series also helps schools comply with the requirements of the Federal Statute that created Constitution Day and requires all federally assisted schools to provide civic education programs about the Constitution each year.
